Forest Park (Friday Spring K-2nd) Golf Multi-Sport Class

Sale Price: $150.00 Original Price: $180.00

Fridays, 2:30-4:00pm, 6 Classes, Apr 24 - May 29, Outdoor Blacktop Area

At Schoolyard Sports, we believe that after school programs should be fun and developmentally enriching.

As a not-for-profit organization, we are committed to providing this after school Golf Multi-Sport class designed to introduce Kindergarten through 2nd Grade students to movement, coordination, and early sport skills in a fun, safe, and age-appropriate environment. Students explore foundational skills through Golf, Pickleball, Volleyball, and Lacrosse using kid-friendly equipment and playful instruction. Rather than formal games, the focus is on basic movements like swinging, throwing, and catching to build confidence and motor development.

Each class is structured with short, engaging activity rotations through skill-based stations to keep energy high and attention focused.  This balanced format supports both skill growth and confidence, helping campers feel prepared for more organized sports as they get older.

Students will build skills in:

  • Golf: driving, chipping, and irons (half and full swings)

  • Pickleball: forehand and backhand swings

  • Volleyball: forearm passing, setting, and serving

  • Lacrosse: shooting, passing, catching, and ground balls

Our experienced coaches, all background-checked through the State of Oregon and trained in our child-friendly curriculum, create a safe and positive atmosphere where kids develop confidence in trying new skills. We work with the school secretary and your teachers on the transition from release to the start of our class and will wait until you or another approved adult picks up your child or transition them to after school care. We provide all necessary equipment, making it easy and convenient for parents.

Why Golf?

Golf is a lifelong sport that enhances hand-eye coordination, motor skills, and focus.

It’s especially great for helping quieter kids gain confidence and assisting active kids in improving concentration.

Our progressive curriculum introduces golf fundamentals in a structured yet fun way starting with Setup and Chipping with Pitching Wedges and introducing Drivers as soon as Week 3 with Putting mixed in based on the interest of each group of students.

Why Lacrosse?

The oldest team sport in North America and one of the fastest-growing youth sports.

Our USA Lacrosse-certified curriculum director has coached youth teams at one of Oregon’s largest youth lacrosse programs and has designed a program that introduces shooting, passing, and catching using youth lacrosse sticks and hacky sacks for a fun, safe introduction to the sport.

Why Volleyball?

The #1 high school and college team sport for girls and the fastest growing sport for boys.

Most kids don’t receive proper volleyball instruction until 12U club volleyball, usually in 5th grade

Our US Volleyball-certified curriculum director (former NCAA Division I volleyball player & elite club coach) has designed a program that introduces overhead setting, forearm passing, serving, and spiking using lightweight Molten “First Touch” volleyballs (only 5 ounces) to ensure fun and safety.

Why Pickleball?

A fast-growing, easy-to-learn sport that kids can enjoy from day one.

A fun introduction to court-based sports without needing a full net or court.

Why Schoolyard Sports?

Convenient after school programs offered at school, right when kids are ready to play

Safe, structured, and fun learning with trained, background-checked coaches

Give your child the chance to explore multiple sports, develop new skills, and have fun after school!
